9-Year-Old Boy’s Lemonade Stand Robbed at Gunpoint

Because who would ever imagine a lemonade stand armed robbery?

Police in North Carolina are searching for a teenager who they say robbed a nine-year-old boy at gunpoint while the child was selling lemonade.

Ms Smith said the boy set up his stand again on Sunday and did brisk business. According to WSOC-TV last August 6, the robber pointed the weapon at Mark's stomach.

The stolen cash was less than $20, Union County Sheriff's Office spokesman Tony Underwood said.

After hearing the news, Huyck said she wanted to do something to let the boy know not everyone is a bad person and show him the neighborhood cares. "This is a new low".

Deputies found a trail in the woods where a camouflage hat, BB gun and the stolen metal tin were recovered.

The plane is registered to a San Francisco-based real estate consulting company, Category III, according to an FAA database. The pilot of the Cessna 414 and all four passengers were killed but nobody on the ground was hurt, authorities said.

Underwood says deputies have asked neighbors to check their home cameras for clues. But so far, they still do not have a thorough description of the robber.

"He's always so happy", neighbor Amber Huyck said.

The robbery has not dented the boy's entrepreneurial spirit - less than 24 hours after the robbery, he was reported to be back out selling lemonade.

Photojournalist Corey Gensler (@CoreyWSOC9), took to his Twitter last August 7 to share a picture he had taken of young Mark posing beside his lemonade stand, wearing a beret and smiling.

Dozens of people from across the country tweeted and emailed FOX 46 Charlotte wondering how you could help get results for the 9-year-old boy.
