Cam Newton confronts Kelvin Benjamin before Bills-Panthers game. Twitter goes nuts

According to The Charlotte Observer's Jourdan Rodrigue, there was no smiling involved and Benjamin "shrugged [Newton] off mid-sentence" and started to walk away.

Cam Newton and Kelvin Benjamin did not sort out their disagreement on Thursday.

"I just think Carolina was bad for me", Benjamin told The Athletic.

Newton chose to approach Benjamin, who didn't seem inclined to talk, prior to the game.

Mauricio Pochettino says his side are BOLD for not signing anyone
The Argentine said: 'If we have all the squad thinking as individuals rather than as a collective, you can not succeed. Of course, we are open to improving but if you can't improve the most important is to keep your best team and players.

Benjamin played with Newton for three and a half seasons in Carolina, though one of those was spent on the sidelines due to an ACL tear.

It was a fortuitous matchup in the preseason opener after the wideout in the same interview this week called the Panthers, his former team, "a bad fit from the get-go".

"If you would've put me with any other QB, let's be real, you know what I'm saying?" Any other accurate quarterback like Rodgers or Eli Manning or Big Ben - anybody! - quarterbacks with knowledge, that know how to place a ball and give you a better chance to catch the ball. Nothing to see here, just a few position battles.

When Benjamin said Newton was an inaccurate passer last week, the quarterback didn't seem bothered by it. Benjamin was speaking with another former teammate, Panthers linebacker Thomas Davis, who appeared to say with a smile, "I thought we were cool", while standing very close to the receiver.
