Everton Agree Deal to Sign Mina From Barcelona

Playmaker Bernard arrived on a free transfer after his contract ended with the Ukrainian club while Barcelona said Everton had agreed to sign centre-back Mina for an initial €30.3 million and have taken midfielder Gomes on loan.

As the transfer window closed with Manchester United unable to land another centre-back, Tottenham Hotspur failing to make any summer signings and Jack Grealish remaining an Aston Villa player, the Merseyside club emerged most satisfied with their day's work.

The fee represents a healthy profit for the Spanish champions, who signed Mina from Palmeiras for €11.8m (£10.6m) only in January and obtained a buy-back option in the deal.

Moments later they also confirmed that Portugal global Gomes would join the Premier League side on loan.

Portugal worldwide Gomes endured even greater struggles at LaLiga's champions and has found an escape route in the shape of a season-long loan at Goodison Park, which will cost the Toffees €2.25million.

Brazilian winger Bernard has revealed the key role Everton boss Marco Silva played in convincing him to move to Goodison Park despite offers from Chelsea, West Ham and AC Milan.

When and where to watch IND v ENG Test match?
It is the first time a whole Test match day has been lost to the weather at the home of cricket since May 2001, against Pakistan. Stokes took three wickets on Sunday's fourth and last day at Edgbaston, including the prize scalp of India captain Virat Kohli.

Everton have signed André Gomes on loan from Barcelona.

"That is why I made my choice, because of the confidence both the manager and the Club showed in me".

"Everyone I have spoken to about Marco Silva has been full of praise for the new Everton manager and I think the Blues will win the division without the "Big Six" this term".

"The manager made me feel confident about playing here". But I was also convinced Everton could improve me and that I would be able to show my best as a player here'.

Everton remain hopeful of completing a second loan deal for Chelsea defender Kurt Zouma, which was submitted ahead of the 5pm deadline.
