White House insider tells of undermining Trump for 'duty to country'

The Times took the unusual step of withholding the individual's identity, describing them only as a "senior administration official".

California Democrat and fierce Trump critic Rep. Ted Lieu called the "stunning" essay "a cry for help" that supports a host of other reports which say "Trump is unfit to lead our great nation".

The Post's op-ed came after the release of some excerpts of journalist Bob Woodward's book, Fear: Trump in the White House, which alleged that Mattis had made derogatory comments about Trump, including that Trump had the understanding of a "fifth or sixth grader".

Today, Sanders is urging the American people to call the New York Times and demand to know who wrote the piece.

"Nearly 62 million people voted for President Donald J. Trump in 2016", said Ms Sanders.

The senior official goes on to list a number of qualities in Trump that are not beneficial to a presidency: an " impetuous, adversarial, petty and ineffective" style of leadership; "impulsiveness result [ing] in half-baked, ill-informed and occasionally reckless decisions", and " impulses [that] are generally anti-trade and anti-democratic".

The anonymous official said "the erratic behaviour would be more concerning if it weren't for unsung heroes in and around the White House".

President Trump and the White House have issued furious statements, with the president calling on the Times to turn the author over to the government for "national security purposes".

Supreme Court decriminalises Section 377, declares homosexuality legal
The court would decide whether the section that criminalised sexual relations between same gender adults would be valid or not. However, the issue resurrected in July 2016, when a fresh petition filed. "The right to live with dignity has been recognised".

The unsigned piece appeared to reinforce the claims made in a new book by journalist Bob Woodward, excerpts of which were made public Tuesday, that describes a virtual cabal of high-minded White House and cabinet officials scheming to prevent Trump from taking decisions damaging to the United States economy and national security.

Trump repeated the headline and said "this is what we have to deal with" during freewheeling remarks in front of the press at an event for sheriffs from around the country.

Pompeo spoke to reporters after a Thursday meeting in New Delhi with top Indian officials and said, "It's not mine".

"When you tell me about some anonymous source within the administration, probably who is failing and probably here for all the wrong reasons, and The New York Times is failing".

"The Deep State and the Left, and their vehicle, the Fake News Media, are going insane - & they don't know what to do", Trump wrote.

"There is a quiet resistance within the administration of people choosing to put country first".

The NYT was also taking questions about the op-ed which would be answered by Op-Ed editor, James Dao.

The official alleges there were "early whispers within" Trump's Cabinet of invoking the 25th Amendment, which would require a majority of Cabinet officials to declare to Congress they believe the President is "unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office".
