Elon Musk Renews Attacks on British Diver, Calls Him a ‘Child Rapist’

"Musk did not provide proof of his claims to Buzzfeed News, and Buzzfeed News could not verify any of the claims after reporting on Unsworth's background". The suit cites Musk's "long-standing public feud with short-sellers", claiming he manipulated the price of Tesla securities to hurt such investors - and in so doing damaged all buyers of the company's shares by issuing false and misleading information.

In Bangkok, deputy government spokesman Weerachon Sukhondhapatipak, who has been organizing numerous events with the boys, responded with concern to Musk's comments highlighting Thailand as a destination for sex tourists.

The Tesla CEO has further escalated the situation from when he first labelled the diver, Vernon Unsworth, a "pedo" in a tweet in July of this year.

Unsworth, who attended Thursday's gala reception, declined to comment on matters pertaining to Musk.

Tensions recently surfaced when Musk refused to answer fairly standard financial questions put to him by an analyst at a recent quarterly earnings report, dismissing them as "boring".

Left, editor of the Citron Research investment newsletter, alleges that Musk tried to "burn" short-sellers who borrow Tesla stock with hopes that the price will fall and they can replace the shares at a lower cost.

"Elon Musk's campaign of publishing vile and false accusations against Mr Unsworth is inexcusable". Musk has publicly and clearly stated that he "hopes" to be sued.

Unsworth, who said he was considering legal action after the original insults on Twitter, is now filing a lawsuit, his lawyer said in an email to the Guardian.

Tiger Woods, McIlory lead BMW Championship
This is the first time Woods has shared a PGA Tour lead after any round since capturing the 2013 WGC-Cadillac Championship. Another birdie at the first hole, his 10th, took Woods to seven under. "Just the way it goes".

Wood told CNN last week that he was in the process of "finalizing the libel complaint" and expected to file it "in the next several days" in a Los Angeles federal court. Reuters was unable to verify the emails reported in the BuzzFeed article.

In the interview, Mr Unsworth said Mr Musk had been asked to leave the cave complex during the rescue operation but did not say by whom. Psychologists said the boys, who were rescued in July, should be given a six-month respite from reliving their experiences for the sake of their mental health.

Finally, on the evening of August 24, a Friday, Musk, by then facing U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission scrutiny into the factual accuracy of his "secured" tweet, blogged here that Tesla would remain public, citing investor resistance.

Mr Musk branded Mr Unsworth a "pedo [sic]" in a tweet he later deleted.

The company faces other problems, too.

The investor also believes that the proposed buy-back of Tesla (TSLA) stock at $420, with a $100 a share premium on current price, denies investors who have backed the company the opportunity of realizing huge future returns. They highlighted concerns including the carmaker's debt-riddled balance sheet and "intensifying" competition that may erode its lead in the electric vehicle race.

An August interview with the New York Times, in which Musk talked about difficulties sleeping, has added to anxiety among investors.
