Obama campaigns in California urging voters to 'restore' sanity in politics

This is not a rock concert. This is not Coachella.

"Democrats need all hands on deck to take back the House, and we could not be more honored to have President Barack Obama's inspirational voice and unifying message on the campaign trail, with his first stop in Southern California", Rep.

The former president explained he planned on following the precedent set by George Washington "to gracefully exit" the political stage, but speaks now as a citizen.

It's unclear how he's managed to get this far without saying it, but he has.

Democrats are hoping to ride an anti-Donald Trump "blue wave" to gain seats and secure control of the House of Representatives, the lower chamber of Congress, and are also battling for seats in the Senate.

Jedediah Bila said this was a reminder of the "professorial" lecturing from Obama that people got exhausted of contrasted with how Trump "speaks with people". "He's just capitalizing on resentments that politicians have been fanning for years".

He called Trump out for not denouncing Nazis after Charlottesville. Obama asked. "Saying that Nazis are bad".

As Obama spoke, Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One that he believed Sessions should investigate the identity of the author of an anonymous New York Times opinion piece that was sharply critical of his leadership, saying the essay was a "national security issue".

It was an incredibly emotional time for the Xanadu singer, whose older sister Rona died from brain cancer months later. She's cut sugar out of her diet entirely, and is also taking cannabis oil for her pain.

"There are people out there right now that are counting on us to make sure they still have health care after this election", Obama said.

"That is not a check, I'm being serious here". And in a healthy democracy, it doesn't work.

"None of this is conservative. It's radical. It's a vision that says our protection of our power is all that matters", Obama said. "If I was the Republicans, I would be very nervous about this".

Obama is seeking to rally support for Democrats as Americans prepare to head to the voting booth November 6 in elections that will see one-third of Senate seats up for grabs, as well as all seats in the House of Representatives.

But he made clear his main goal on Saturday was getting Democrats and independents, who are a big bloc of voters here, to turn out in November. "The biggest threat to our democracy is cynicism". He criticized Republicans for taking credit for an economic recovery that began under his presidency, and for enabling Trump to pressure the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Department of Justice to punish his political enemies.

Shortly after Obama's remarks concluded, President Trump took the stage at a campaign event in North Dakota, where he reacted to Obama jumping back into politics.

Obama also reminded voters that the economic recovery - one of Trump's favorite talking points - began on his watch. This is not a rock concert. "All we need is decent, honest, hard-working people who are accountable and have America's best interest at heart".

He gave some parental words of wisdom.

. They're not accountable. They're not doing us a service by actively promoting 90 percent of the insane stuff that's coming out of this White House and then saying, 'Don't worry. [LAUGH] Sometimes I'll be in my office and I'm doing my work and I'll see this, her like scurrying, And I gotta get up and run before she does her thing.
