Apple ditches free headphone adapter with new iPhones

Every new Apple iPhone is an X thanks to the launch of the XR, XS and XS Max, with the pricier ones being the first iPhones to support eSIMs.

Apple's put a new and improved Face ID system inside both the XS and XS Max that it says makes it not only more secure but even faster to unlock. Fortunately, except for an additional sensor, iPhone XR retains all of the software and hardware features like optical image stabilisation and 4K video recording at 24 fps, 30 fps or 60 fps.

Apple also touted the iPhone's durability, saying the front and back glass design is tougher than any other smartphone and is more resistant to scratches.

Apple also announced a new Apple Watch, which will move further into medical device territory.

If you're using a 4.7-inch iPhone 7 or older, would you consider getting the iPhone XR?

It's the biggest iPhone ever, with a whopping 6.5 inch display (up from the 5.8 inch screen on the XS model).

The new phones have displays of 5.8 and 6.5 inches, boosting screen size while keeping a small-format handset, Apple vice president Phil Schiller said. Demanding the style and slender bezels of the iPhone Xs, but with a budget for a less expensive device, it slots in as the entry-level option in Apple's 2018 range.

Using the A12 processor the camera can take photos using what it's calling Smart HDR.

IPhone XS, XS Max: First Impression
As for the iPhone11,6 identifier, this appears to be the iPhone Xs thanks to the 4GB of RAM detailed in the specifications list. It also features IP68 certification which makes it water-resistant - beer and tea as well - in 2m depth for up to 30 minutes.

The app incorporates various iPhone sensors to monitor a person playing basketball, and can display digital graphics on a person's phone that tells them statistics about that player's performance. Apple iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max have an OLED screen, a premium display quality which was used on the last year's iPhone X. Preorders start at 2 AM CST on Friday and last through September 16th. "We expect the iPhone XS Max to have exactly the same effect despite its price tag".

"Apple Watch Series 4 is the ultimate guardian for your health, the best fitness companion, and the most convenient way to stay connected", Apple COO Jeff Williams during the press conference.

Of course, the year's second half has started months ago, which means the 85 million+ tally will need to come from roughly three and a half months of iPhone XS/XS Max sales, as well as a little over two months in stores for the more affordable iPhone XR.

In comparison, the starting price point for the iPhone Xs is listed at $999 USD, while the Xs Max is just one hundred dollars more, $1,099 USD, both for the 64 GB model. The limited time we had with the iPhone XS Max, we were impressed by the OLED display Apple has incorporated.

As expected, the iPhone XS is no cheaper than last year's iPhone X, but thankfully no more expensive either. The first new design for the watch since its launch three years ago, the new Apple Watch has a almost edge-to-edge display and comes in both 40mm and 44mm sizes. It is the largest phone ever that Apple has released, not to mention the costliest as well.

The Bluetooth/GPS model will start at $399, while the version with cellular connectivity will run you $499.

Weighing these futuristic new features against their hefty price tags, will you be waiting in line to grab your next iPhone or Apple Watch?
