Trump going ahead with plans for new China tariffs

As before, the tariffs are meant to pressure China into curbing trade policies deemed unfair, including attempts to acquire U.S. technologies and subsidize tech categories like AI and robotics.

A higher tariff of 25% is already in force on $50 billion worth of imports from China, and the period for public comments on a proposal to extend it to another $200 billion worth of goods ended recently. -China talks would delay the duties. In many cases, though, it's not as simple as opening a new factory. It said the timing for activating the additional tariffs was still unclear. A meeting among Cabinet-level officials could ease market worries over the escalating tariff war that threatens to engulf all trade between the world's two largest economies and raise costs for companies and consumers.

About it reports Reuters, citing a senior official in the White house, reports the online edition of the Chronicle.info with reference to the Correspondent.

This week, the USA invited China to hold talks on the tariff dispute. The list of products mostly included industrial equipment to avoid directly hurting US consumers.

Trump has reportedly said he is not anxious about the potential impact.

White House spokeswoman Lindsay Walters said: "The President has been clear that he and his administration will continue to take action to address China's unfair trade practices".

Peter King Has Strong Response To Patriots Trading For Josh Gordon
Coleman has played in 19 National Football League games with 18 starts and has 56 receptions for 718 yards and five touchdowns. If Gordon is not active for 10 games this season, the Patriots will get a 2019 seventh-round pick in return from the Browns .

The duties already levied on $50 billion worth of Chinese goods followed a study on China's intellectual property practices released earlier this year.

The $200 billion tariff list included various internet technology products and other electronics, printed circuit boards, and consumer goods ranging from handbags to bicycles and furniture.

In retaliation Beijing has pledged to hit back with tariffs on $60 billion of Us exports, including meat, coffee, furniture and auto parts.

"We encourage China to address the long standing concerns raised by the United States".

The US has launched a trade war against China which could see all of its exports to the US subject to duties.

Asked if the Trump administration would like to have additional trade talks with China, Kudlow said: "If they come to the table in a serious way to generate some positive results, yes, of course". The two leaders may see other at the United Nations General Assembly in NY later this month and are scheduled to meet on the sidelines of the G-20 summit in Buenos Aires in November.
