Royal return: Duchess Kate back to work after maternity leave

The Duchess of Cambridge was first spotted in them back in June 2004 for the Festival of British Eventing and has since worn them on countless engagements.

The Duchess of Cambridge returned to official duties after her maternity leave to visit Sayers Croft Forest School and Wildlife Garden in central London.

The 36-year-old wore an army green Stina Jacket by Fjällräven (£154) and knee-high Penelope Chilvers Long Tassel Boots (£475).

August, 2004: Kate was first spotted in the £475 brown boots at the Game Fair at Blenheim Palace in August 2004, right.

The Duchess will see how the Sayers Croft Forest School and Wildlife Garden is helping children's emotional and physical well-being.

The London-based school teaches children about the natural world, taking in thousands of students each year for visits.

The Manchester United star was part of the Mourinho's side that won 3-2 against Southampton in the League Cup final at Wembley in February 2017.

Since then, Kate has sported her favourite footwear, which she usually pairs with her brown jeans and Khaki jacket, during global tours - like her trip to Bhutan with hubby Prince Will in 2016 - and her visit to an Arlingham farm in 2017.

But every mother checking out Kate's outfit must surely be thinking, "Gee I wish I could look that good on the school run every morning".

She also attended the Trooping the Colour celebrations to mark the birthday of Queen Elizabeth in June, and attended the Wimbledon tennis tournament with Meghan, albeit in a private capacity, in July.

She took more time following the May 2, 2015, birth of Princess Charlotte, now 3, returning to work that September.

During Tuesday's event, Kate got down in the grass with a young student as they hunted for "mini beasts", but they could only find slugs.
