Suge Knight Sentenced to 28 Years in Prison

He pled no contest to voluntary manslaughter after he was involved in a hit-and-run in a Los Angeles restaurant parking lot.

Rap mogul Marion "Suge" Knight was sentenced Thursday to almost three decades in prison for killing a man during a 2015 hit-and-run.

One of music's biggest names, Marion "Suge" Knight, has been sentenced to 28 years in prison for his role in the murder of a businessman during a gangland fight in Los Angeles.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Ronald Coen, who issued the sentence, appeared moved by the family's words and offered his own condolences. Knight remained unmoved when Carter's daughter, Crystal, called him "a disgusting, selfish disgrace to the human species".

Knight, 53, had previously plead no contest to voluntary manslaughter charges on September 20 in Los Angeles County Superior Court as part of a deal which saw prosecutors drop murder charges against him.

Sloan had worked as an adviser on the film, which portrayed Knight in his early days as the co-founder of Death Row Records.

I think it's very important for him to play a very good match. Sarri also sees Morata's tears as a positive thing. I think it was important three points.

It's unclear where Knight will serve his time, but due to prison overcrowding, he could be out in as little more than 10 years.

Carter was killed after Knight and one of his longtime rivals, Cle "Bone" Sloan, started fighting outside a Compton burger stand in January 2015.

That doubled the manslaughter sentence and adds an extra six years.

Last week it was announced that at least two new Tupac Shakur albums would be released soon, after his estate settled a lawsuit with Death Row Records over royalties.

The agreement also clears Knight in two other cases, both from 2014.

While every accepted chronology of Shakur's last hours on September 7 place him at a Mike Tyson fight at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, later getting into a auto with Knight. He also would receive an additional five years because the conviction was for a serious and violent felony and a year for the deadly weapon allegation. The label's records, including Dre's first solo album The Chronic and Snoop Dogg's debut Doggystyle, are considered classics of the genre that defined an era. He was accused of stealing a camera from a woman and of sending threatening text messages to Straight Outta Compton director F. Gary Gray.
