Out of the box it came running Android 9.0 Pie, with Active Edge enabling gestures like squeezing the sides of the phone to perform actions. Several leaks have taken place over the last couple of months and while much of the focus has been placed on the smartphone lineup, it looks like we'll be seeing a Pixel tablet this year too.

The timeline for the India launch a couple of weeks after the global announcement seems to be in line with what Google did previous year with Pixel 2-series phones. Now the new introductions will be the one advancing this series.

The company teased the Pixel devices with its AI, saying the camera has been trained on pictures from Google Images to "know a good photo when it sees it".

Phones have plateaued somewhat in terms of their hardware, but two things are changing.

Other than the notch, the Pixel 3 packs a Snapdragon 845 chip, 4GB of RAM, 8MP rear and front camera, and features created to help users control excessive phone use, screen phone calls, and AI-powered features. So it's high time for a successor, which will be introduced under the name "Google Pixel Slate" together with the Pixel 3 and 3 XL.

It is October and it has become a tradition of sorts for Google to announce their latest Pixel branded phone and now we have the new generation.

Google noted that, unlike rivals from Amazon and Facebook, the new Home Hub doesn't feature a built-in camera.

Google could also provide an update on its long awaited Wear OS wearable, rumoured to be called Pixel Watch, however, this seems incredibly unlikely.

Rumors suggest Google could have new Pixel phones, a tablet, a screen-equipped smart speaker and a pair of headphones up its sleeve. This new Slate tablet by Pixel will go head-on against the new Apple iPad Pro, and it might also possibly come with a fingerprint sensor.

To recall, the Pixel 2 was launched in India at Rs. 61,000 for the 64GB model, while its 128GB model is priced at Rs. 70,000.

A new third-generation Chromecast might also be in the pipeline for the upcoming event.

"This Chrome OS device is both a powerful workstation at the office, and a home theater you can hold in your hands", said Rick Osterloh, Google's senior vice president of hardware, in a blog post. Still, there have been no words about any upgraded internal specs.
