October 2018 Xbox Update Brings Xbox Avatars and Cortana, Alexa Voice Skills

You will see your own Avatar on your profile, as well as the profile pages of anyone who has chosen to represent themselves as an Avatars. Remember, Windows 10 runs on thousands of different configurations, while Xbox One consists of just three.

The Alexa integration is quite a big deal as Amazon has been an early leader in the digital assistant space, and for a limited-time consumers in the United States who buy a qualified Xbox One S or Xbox One X bundle at Amazon.com will get a new Amazon Echo Dot along their purchase. To set up the skill, start by saying "Alexa, open Xbox" or "Hey Cortana, open Xbox". To set up Alexa, say, "Alexa, open Xbox".

There's an Australian version of English coming for Narrator as well, eliminating the need for Australian gamers to select U.S. or UK English to utilize the app. Microsoft hasn't announced the features for that though, so there should be more news soon.
