Aerosmith's Joe Perry hospitalized after collapsing at Billy Joel concert

Perry, 68, had joined Joel, 69, on stage for a rendition of Aerosmith's Walk This Way.

It added that paramedics backstage gave Perry oxygen and used a tracheal tube to clear his airway before taking him to hospital.

The good news is he's apparently doing well in the hospital right now, though, and he could be discharged as early as Sunday afternoon, per those sources. While he will be unable to appear at a scheduled performance at Rock and Roll Fantasy Camp in Florida later today, Perry is expected to return to the road later this month.

The guitarist was rushed to hospital on Saturday after collapsing in his dressing room.

Barrett, Zion Williamson and Cameron Reddish combined to score 83 points, one shy of what Kentucky scored as a team in the game. After the performance on Tuesday night those expectations may have changed for some, even if it is after one game.

The guitarist left the venue on a stretcher, according to multiple reports, after collapsing in his dressing room backstage. Fans reported that the rocker stumbled behind an amplifier during the show and collapsed.

Perry recently released his new single "Quake" and announced he is embarking on a solo tour alongside Aerosmith member Brad Whitford and Gary Cherone of Extreme. Aerosmith has also planned a Las Vegas residency for next year. So here's to hoping that Perry and his health will have what it takes to make those upcoming gigs.

Perry's representative sent a statement to The Blast on Sunday morning that clarifies the nature of Perry's medical treatment and his current condition.
