Marvel co-creator Stan Lee has died

As the top writer at Marvel Comics and later as its publisher, Lee was widely considered the architect of the contemporary comic book. While other iconic characters followed including The Inhumans, Silver Surfer, Black Panther (the first black superhero in mainstream comics) and The Falcon, Lee's main creative contributions in the early 60's formed the core of Marvel Comics. But for many, his first big-screen appearance in X-Men still holds a special place in their hearts, and arguably set in motion the trend of keeping an eye out for Lee in Marvel movies.

Cape Town - M-Net Movies will honour Stan Lee with four films on M-Net Movies Action+ this weekend.

Entertainment are saddened by the loss of our friend and mentor Stan Lee, the father of pop culture. Chris Evans, the actor who plays Marvel Comics' Captain America, said on Twitter, "He exuded love and kindness and will leave an indelible mark on so, so, so many lives".
