Priyanka and Nick Jonas get married in a ceremony in Jodhpur

Pre-wedding festivities for the couple began on Wednesday with a puja ceremony at Priyanka's mom, Madhu's house.

The Bollywood superstar and the Texan singer, formerly part of the Jonas Brothers, Wednesday before family and friends in Jodhpur's Umaid Bhavan Palace.

The guests at the wedding have been asked not to bring mobile phones with the camera and the entry to the Umaid Bhawan Palace is strictly restricted by invitation.

The couple, who have warned guests they will need a vacation after their wedding, are clearly keen on celebrating their union in style, and have ensured everyone has a welcome pack waiting for them in their room. And so planning our wedding with amalgamation of both was so, so wonderful.

The wedding was officiated by the groom's father, Paul Kevin Jonas, People said.

Not just her, even Priyanka's cousin and actress Parineeti Chopra was spotted at the airport all set to jet off. Priyanka and Nick will first have a Christian wedding followed by the Indian one on December 2.

Chopra wore a custom Ralph Lauren gown, while her new spouse also opted for the brand.

Lauren is an important designer for the couple not only because he is a close friend of the actor but also because she and Jonas, 26, both rocked Ralph Lauren Collection at the 2017 Met Gala, which took place one week after their unofficial first date.

Singer Manasi Scott had also shared a few glimpses of herself from the wedding venue ahead of the sangeet.

This was followed by a mehendi ceremony - a private event in which the bride has traditional henna tattoos applied to her palms and arms - as well as a sangeet ceremony - an Indian wedding tradition that involves singing, dancing and music - on Thursday.

The newlyweds will reportedly fly from Jodhpur to Delhi the next day for their wedding reception at the Taj Palace Hotel.
