Trump wants 'full and complete' sentence for his former lawyer Cohen

As well as any potential collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia, Mueller has also been probing whether Trump tried to obstruct justice - including by firing Federal Bureau of Investigation director James Comey past year. Cohen and prosecutors referred to Trump as "individual one" throughout proceedings and said he lied "to be loyal to Individual One".

The Trump Organization reportedly planned to gift Putin a $50 million penthouse in the proposed tower; that news has prompted further outcry from critics who view the president's election as illegitimate.

The charges were brought by Special Counsel Robert Mueller, who is investigating Russian interference in the presidential election, not the prosecutors in NY who handled Cohen's previous guilty plea in August to other federal charges involving his taxi businesses, bank fraud and his campaign work for Trump.

Michael Cohen plead guilty to two counts of campaign finance violations that are not a crime.

After the plea deal, Trump described Cohen as weak and a liar and said he himself did nothing wrong in relation to the Moscow project.

Putting the attack on Cohen aside, a lot of people were confused about Trump's decision to capitalize and misspell "Scott Free" in his tweet.

His sentencing is scheduled for December 12.

USA and China 'will impose no new tariffs'
The White House released the names of the two delegations, totalling 20 people in addition to the two leaders. Putin said it was "a pity" that he had not been able to have a proper meeting with Trump at the G20.

"Nice to know that some people still have 'guts!'" Trump wrote on Twitter, highlighting Stone's loyalty to the president.

The tweet about Stone drew immediate criticism from several lawyers, who said it amounted to witness tampering.

George Conway singled out tweet number three and offered a pithy response.

George Conway, who is married to senior Trump adviser Kellyanne Conway, retweeted Trump's tweet with a reference to a USA statute on witness tampering and obstruction of justice: "File under '18 U.S.C. §§ 1503, 1512'". The Justice Department is likely to assess that whatever it is, the tweet is not a legal determination by the president and is not binding on the agency.

Stone's comments come as Mueller's investigative team have been closing in on members of Trump's inner circle. "The truth is very bad for their mission!"

Mueller, a Republican, was selected by Deputy Attorney General Rod J. Rosenstein, a Republican appointed to his position by Trump.
