Derek Fisher excited to be new coach of Sparks

The Los Angeles Sparks have hired former National Basketball Association player and New York Knicks coach Derek Fisher as their head coach, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reports. "With his wealth of experience as a former player and head coach, I can't think of a better steward for our basketball team moving forward".

Before becoming a coach, Fisher played for 18 seasons in the National Basketball Association. He coached the New York Knicks from 2014-2016.

Similarly, the S&P 500 dropped by 2.5pc with financials dropping by 4.0pc and industrials dropping by 3.5pc. Advanced Micro Devices dropped 9.4 percent to $21.49, while Micron Technology lost 6.4 percent to $37.47.

The suit says the Woloshins rented the house a year ago after their home was damaged by Hurricane Irma, agreeing to pay $30,000 a month. That being said, Fisher's a midseason firing after compiling a 40-96 record in one-plus seasons marred his tenure in NY. The 44-year old-will become the franchise's 12th head coach, as he replaces Brian Agler, who gave up his post last month. He is the winningest coach in WNBA history.

"Our ownership group is excited to welcome Derek to the Sparks family", Sparks Managing Director and Governor Eric Holoman said. "Derek is a champion and proven leader on and off the court". Agler led Los Angeles to back-to-back WNBA Finals appearances, including winning the 2016 WNBA title. His introductory press conference will take place on Friday.
