WH Official: UN Ambassador Will Be Downgraded To Non-Cabinet Position

Trump's nominee to be the next USA ambassador to the United Nations, Heather Nauert.

During Nauert's tenure at the state department, press briefings went from being daily events to being held once or twice weekly.

And, last but not least, no one would deny Nauert's attractiveness, which seems crucial in the noble role of being the "US face" and White House policy mouthpiece overseas, doesn't it?

Congress begins in January, Republicans will have a 53-47 vote majority over Democrats in the Senate.

Still, with Trump, no staffing decision is final until he makes the formal announcement, since he has been known to change course in the past.

"She told counterparts: "'I can't stop [President Trump], I'm not gonna be able to control him, we've gotta get this done.'... The former U.S. ambassador to the United Nations once said that if you lopped off the top 10 floors of the organisation's NY headquarters, it would make no difference. Nauert's job as spokeswoman at State is "to read talking points and explain policy", McFaul tweeted. She never traveled with and was not close to her first boss at the department, former Secretary of State Rex Tillerson.

Nauert, 48, had been touted for the post since October when Haley announced that she was stepping down.

Nauert has not been the first person from Fox News to be appointed in the Trump administration.

Ms Haley has served almost two years in the post.

"She's [Nauert is] going to work with Nikki Haley to replace Nikki at the United Nations".

It is only the second auto ever to handed a zero-star Euro NCAP rating, with the other vehicle being the Fiat Punto 2017 . While the Panda originally received 80 per cent for adult protection, the latest test rated it at 45 per cent.

Without elaborating on the topics, she added, "For the most part he's been very willing to listen and very willing to come around". If Nauert is confirmed by the Senate, she would be a leading administration voice on Trump's foreign policy. But without being a member of the Cabinet, she wouldn't have the same independence that Haley has enjoyed.

Two administration officials confirmed Trump's plans Thursday.

The North Korean in turn labeled Trump a "mentally deranged USA dotard".

Schaefer notes, though, that Trump already has a team in place that he relies on for help in crafting foreign policy -Pompeo and National Security Adviser John Bolton. But former President George W. Bush did not include the position in his Cabinet.

"For better or worse, the administration's United Nations policy is pretty established at this point, and there's no reason to expect that Nauert will deviate from the "America First" course that Haley, Bolton, and Pompeo have set".

Shut out from the top by Tillerson and his inner circle, Nauert developed relationships with career diplomats. Translation: The UN job will give her lots of media exposure, but when the president sees her face on "all the shows", he won't feel threatened.

According to CAIR, while at Fox News, Nauert interviewed "notorious Islamophobes", including Robert Spencer, Frank Gaffney and Nonie Darwish.

Originally from Wisconsin, she attended Mount Vernon College, a now-defunct all-women´s school in Washington, before graduating from the elite Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism.
