McDonald's employee fights back after Florida man attacks her over plastic straw

Officers arrested Taylor shorty after when they received a call about an unarmed robbery nearby and recognized him from the video, police said. The man, identified as Daniel Taylor, was seen grabbing the employee by her shirt.

As per the news report, according to a new law effective from January 1 in St. Petersburg, restaurants cannot have straws out and the customers have to request for them.

In the viral video, which at the time of reporting has garnered over 3 million views, Taylor grabs James by her shirt collar and almost drags her across the counter. The video she made, displayed how Taylor went ahead and grabbed the employee with her t-shirt collar.

Police said Taylor and Yasmine James, an employee, got into "a verbal argument about straws". He said there was no such law.

Then to the manager, the man said, "You're going to give me a goddamn refund". The people, present at the outlet, were heard saying "Let her go" and "stop".

The whole incident was caught on camera by Brenda Biandudi. "We have been in contact with the police department and are fully cooperating with their investigation", McDonald's wrote in a statement.

The suspect is described as a white man in his 30s or 40s, wearing a black hoodie, with pale skin and blue eyes. The driver of the pickup pulled alongside Washington's vehicle and fired inside, authorities have said.

What does McDonald's have to say? It has since collected over 3.3 million views and 67,000 shares on Facebook.

The clerk was not hurt, but the arrest affidavit says Taylor injured a second clerk by kicking her in the stomach as he was being escorted out. "I think they acted appropriately", she said. "These last 24 hours have been very busy".

McDonald's has welcomed her back, but she's unsure if she'll ever return to work.

"People need to treat others the way they want to be treated", Biandudi stated regarding the attack. "You should try to avoid physical confrontation, but if someone put hands on you, you have to defend yourself", she continued.

Biandudi also hopes that James is able to keep her job following this bad moment. "She's a petite girl, and I just felt she did the right thing". "She needs to keep her job and I seriously hope she will".
