Bayern Munich confirm signing World Cup victor Benjamin Pavard

VfB Stuttgart and France defender Benjamin Pavard will be joining Bayern Munich at the end of the 2018-19 season.

"I can announce that we managed to get the services of Benjamin Pavard from July 1, 2019", Salihamidzic told reporters during a Bayern training camp in Qatar, without giving any financial details of the transfer.

This time, the club's sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic has revealed that the club has signed France's World Cup-winning star, Benjamin Pavard. "He is a young player, a world champions and we are happy to have signed him".

"He is a very interesting player whom we really want to sign", Salihamidzic added of the 18-year-old.

Pavard joined Stuttgart from Lille in 2016 and has been used as a centre-back and right-back by both club and country.

Pavard helped his country win the 2018 World Cup in Russian Federation and scored goal of the tournament, against Argentina.

Following an outstanding debut season in Germany's upper tier, Pavard has struggled this term, just like Stuttgart.

Pavard has been linked with numerous clubs since his eye-catching performances in Russian Federation, with Bayern rumoured to be interested in signing him immediately after the tournament.

The club have also been linked with Atletico defender Lucas Hernandez and Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi.
