Bucs signing Bruce Arians to 4-year deal as new head coach

The Buccaneers' strong interest in former Cardinals coach Bruce Arians is mutual, NFL.com reported, adding that the sides are likely to begin negotiations to make him the team's next head coach.

An official announcement was expected within 24 hours, according to multiple reports Monday.

Bowles was DC during Arians' first two seasons in Arizona.

Arians had previously said he would only be interested in the Cleveland job, but later said he would listen to offers in Tampa due to his relationship with Jason Licht.

Arians replaces Dirk Koetter, who was dismissed December 30 after leading the Bucs to 19 wins and no playoffs berths over the past three seasons.

Glazer said he chatted with Arians after his Buccaneers interview in Tampa and he learned Arians' doctor was part of the interview process that included a trip to a local hospital.

He has a reputation for developing quarterbacks like Peyton Manning, Ben Roethlisberger and Andrew Luck.

A new coaching staff's goal: seeing if Jameis Winston is the quarterback the Bucs can build around as he enters the fifth and final season of his rookie contract. He has since been re-hired by the Falcons as their offensive coordinator.
