Freddie Kitchens has 'good chance' of being next Browns coach

Freddie Kitchens, who took control of the Browns' offense midway through the season and helped propel Baker Mayfield to the next level and along the way give long-suffering Browns fans hope, has been hired as head coach, according to multiple reports. His defense ranked 21st in scoring and 30th in yards allowed in 2018, his second season in Cleveland. Kitchens' play-calling energized rookie Mayfield, who finished with a rookie record 27 touchdown passes, with 19 of those coming when Kitchens was calling the plays. "They know how we played at the end of the season, especially offensively", said Mayfield following the Browns' Week 17 loss against the Ravens regarding the coaching search.

The Cleveland Browns may have their next head coach almost decided.

Per the report, several of the team's current assistants from the previous regime have already been asked to remain with the team.
