Dashcam footage has captured the terrifying moment a toddler flew out of a moving vehicle despite being securely fastened into a auto seat.

The video shows the vehicle in front of him continue to drive away. He stopped his vehicle and ran to the child's aid.

Mock wrote on Facebook that he wouldn't believe it himself if he didn't witness it. "When more strangers were approaching she was a little more frigidity" Mock told The Mankato Times, saying on Facebook that the parents came back and that "the child was OK".

Mankato police responded to the scene around 11:45 a.m., and said that the mother was driving the auto at the time, Fox 9 reported.

"The child was properly fastened inside the safety seat; however, the child safety seat was not fastened to the vehicle seat", the city said in a statement.

The auto door can then be seen closing as the vehicle continues to drive. Paramedics and police checked the child out as well.

Mankato police are recommending the Blue Earth County Attorney's Office charge the mother with child endangerment and not fastening a child restraint system.
