BioWare's Chad Robertson on the Rough Start of the VIP Demo

BioWare's Chad Robertson on the Rough Start of the VIP Demo

Finally, some players were hit by an unfortunate "infinite load" bug, where the game would hang on the loading screen until being closed down and restarted. "Our goal is to get everyone into the demo having fun together", Robertson added. Nonetheless, those sticking around could easily confirm the playtime they had was still satisfying.

EA shares more details on the issues that are being worked on in the Anthem demo and rewards VIP players with more javelins.

Many players are reporting that they can not get into the VIP demo, and are instead met with errors in retrieving live service data and that servers are reaching max capacity. Once again, an issue that hasn't been encountered during internal testing.

Summing up the issues that players experienced during the first day of the demo, BioWare's head of live service Chad Robertson said "Yesterday was rocky".

James Harden Is "The Tony Romo Of The NBA Playoffs"
That continued in his play against the Knicks with a more than impressive stat line of 61 points, 15 rebounds, and four assists. He's scored 261 consecutive unassisted points, the last time someone set him up for a basket being January 13.

"I want to dispel one comment we've seen: that we under-planned for server capacity".

Bioware says they're also continuing to look into rubber-banding and server performance, and have stated that despite many players facing issues, a large number players managed to enjoy the game. 'Overall, we had excess capacity prepared for population increases, and continue to do so'. "That said, what's important is that all parts of the game work as created to meet players' needs, and that did not happen in the opening hours". The platform connection issue was caused by spikes in players attempting to log in to the game, which is an issue that did not present itself during internal testing due to the more controlled environment. Investigations are ongoing, and we will continue to apply fixes throughout the weekend.

Some Xbox One players are unable to access the Anthem VIP demo. To help build hype, BioWare and parent company Electronic Arts recently launched a 'VIP Demo' open only to those who are paying subscribers to Origin Access Premier or who had pre-ordered the game from selected outlets - but those "very important people" were left feeling less than important following serious bugs in the launch. We believe we've resolved most of these, but have additional cases we are addressing. BioWare did notice the issue with the infinite load screens and cited that the dynamics of different network setups and ISPs on the user's end could make this a problem that's tricky to tackle and it may not be solved before the demo's end. Since the demo has gone live, however, players have been faced with a ton of problems preventing them from playing the game at all.
