Eagles' Nick Foles To Void Option, Become Free Agent

On Tuesday, the Eagles exercised the $20 million option on Foles' contract for the 2019 season.

"But the bottom line here is that the Eagles are expected to use their franchise tag on him and they are expected to try to trade him so they can help dictate where he winds up".

The Eagles will then shop Foles on the trade market, where they hope to fetch a 3rd round draft pick in return.

Foles had to pay the $2 million to the Eagles via cashier's check by February 16, which would be 25 days prior to the start of the new league year. Foles is slated to hit the free agency market when the new NFL league year begins on March 13.

Foles must pay the Eagles $2 million to opt out.

Wayne Rooney wants Solskjaer or Pochettino as Man Utd boss
Rooney was the embodiment of Sam Allardyce's stodgy Everton era; a slow-paced player for a side who needs more dynamism than that. There could be club debuts for Lazar Markovic and Havard Nordtveit following their arrivals in the January transfer window.

While conceding he and Foles, the Eagles' backup quarterback, see the game differently to a degree and like different concepts, he flatly denied being resistant to running plays that might be associated with being "Foles stuff".

Carson Wentz was about to enter prayer when he was labeled selfish and not a team player.

"Groh and I talked to each other that day when it came out, and I think we all know that never took place", Wentz said. It's not just the quarterback that led the Eagles to a Super Bowl win.

Wentz met with reporters last week to discuss the story, his health and the Eagles' quarterback situation.

"It hasn't been the easiest past year for me on the physical level, just battling the injuries, but then just personally going through it, sitting on the sideline and then playing and then sitting on the sideline again", Wentz said.

It is going to be tough to pull off, but financially, it is far easier for the Eagles to pull off than many think.
