Spotify will start banning ad blockers

What music service do you use? "Spotify learns from each engagement, fueling a more personalized ad experience".

Ad-blockers may clear up websites full of spam but when it comes to legitimate services like Spotify they're hurting artists and industries.

Thus, according to the new terms of service, the warnings may end; users lose their account immediately if Spotify suspects they are using an adblocker.

While the music streaming service has a decent number of paying users, a large percentage of the userbase stick with free, ad-supported accounts.

Portuguese Ivan Cavaleiro struck in the second half to win the tie and set up a fifth-round game at Bristol City. He said: "Knowing how good Pep is I'm sure they'll overcome that pitch".

The new terms of service stress that "circumventing or blocking advertisements in the Spotify Service, or creating or distributing tools designed to block advertisements in the Spotify Service" is "not permitted for any reason whatsoever". But for some apparently nearly the entire catalogue of music in the world for free isn't enough and they need to block ads - essentially killing any profit for the Spotify team and most importantly the artists and labels. Spotify began to control by disabling such accounts when it detects any abnormal activity. Spotify also notes that if a user attempts to get around the rule, it may result in suspension or termination.

Torrentfreak reported: "Spotify informs users of modified apps that they're on the company's radar and there could be consequences for trying to subvert the system". When the new terms of service come into force on March 1, Spotify will instantly ban users who are avoiding ads. Spotify responded to that by introducing multiple detection techniques past year.

"The format is really evolving and while podcasting is still a relatively small business today, I see incredible growth potential for the space and for Spotify in particular", Daniel says through a blog post.
