Twitter reacts to Antonio Brown's sudden farewell from the Steelers

Steelers' president Art Rooney II told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette he doesn't expect Brown being with the team when they open training camp in mid-July, though there are no plans to release him.

Brown tweeted a farewell to the Steelers and their fans, saying it is "time to move on and forward".

Amid reports Brown wants a trade from the Pittsburgh Steelers, the star wide receiver came right out with it Tuesday, essentially demanding a trade from the team that drafted him in 2010.

Brown is entering the third of year of a five-year $72.7 million contract with the Steelers.

Brown, 30, has been the subject of widespread trade speculation after he failed to show up to work the day before the season finale against the Cincinnati Bengals.

He has surpassed 100 receptions and 1,000 receiving yards in each of the past six seasons, and in 2018 he caught 104 passes for 1,297 yards and a career-high 15 touchdowns. The conviction stems from a November 8 incident when Brown was allegedly driving a black Porsche more than 100 miles per hour in Pennsylvania. The woman did not press charges and police have taken no further action.
