Enes Kanter signs with Blazers

Kanter, 26, was waived by the New York Knicks last week.

"I am pleased to announce that I have signed with the Portland Trail Blazers for the remainder of the season". It is a blessing to continue to compete at the highest level! Portland signed Kanter to a $70M offer sheet in 2015, which OKC matched.

Kanter played and started 71 games last season with the Knicks and opened this season in their rotation, too.

It has been an eventful season for the Turkish Kanter, who also has verbally jabbed with Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the president of Turkey.

Selected out of Kentucky with the third overall pick of the 2011 NBA Draft by the Utah Jazz, Kanter (6-11, 250) holds career averages of 11.9 points (53.9% FG, 29.8% 3-PT, 78.2% FT), 7.6 rebounds, 0.8 assists and 22.2 minutes in 560 games (208 starts) over eight seasons with Utah, Oklahoma City and NY.

Pull up a comfy chair, it's Nintendo Direct time
We're just getting started on today's Nintendo Direct, and like always, Nintendo is pulling no punches from the beginning. We could also learn more about Luigi's Mansion 3 and Animal Crossing , both of which are heading to the Nintendo Switch.

Kanter has appeared in 560 career games with the Utah Jazz, Oklahoma City Thunder and Knicks.

The Blazers are 33-23 on the season and tied with the Houston Rockets for fourth spot in the Western Conference standings and Kanter is expected to bring much needed rebounding and playoff experience to the roster.

Kanter is the Blazers' third midseason addition, joining Rodney Hood and Skal Labissiere, who were acquired in trades with the Cleveland Cavaliers and Sacramento Kings, respectively.

Kanter chose Portland over the Los Angeles Lakers and several other teams.
