World number one Osaka in shock split with coach

World number one, Naomi Osaka has split with her coach Sascha Bajin 16 days after winning the Australian Open.

In his first true stint as a coach, he joined with Osaka in December 2017 and helped her win her first career title at Indian Wells last March.

She also thanked Bajin and wished him "all the best in the future".

During the off-season, Bajin was awarded the WTA Coach of the Year award.

Bajin, a former hitting partner to Serena Williams, responded: "Thank you Naomi".

Tesla will roll out 'Dog Mode' to protect pets
That is only a month away, and it's unsure if Musk himself would be the one to drag the curtains of the brand new automotive. Musk said last month his "rough guess" was that Tesla would begin building the $35,000 Model 3 in mid-2019.

Bajin replied to Osaka with a tweet of his own.

" Thanks to my team, I don't think I would have made it through this week without you".

Osaka will next appear in Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships, beginning next week.

Under Bajin, Osaka rose from world number 72 at the start of 2018 to the summit of the rankings little over a year later.

Osaka is the first player from Asia to grace the top of the women's or men's world tennis rankings. Osaka's Twitter feed lit up in response to her announcement, with several memes expressing widespread disbelief - including a shrugging Barack Obama, a confused Joey from American sitcom "Friends" and a Minions character screaming "WHAAAAT?"
