Lori Loughlin & Others Indicted In Alleged Ivy League Bribery Scheme

The coaches would allegedly arrange a fake profile that listed the prospective student as an athlete, and exam administrators would either hire exam invigilators to take the test, or else correct the answers of a student.

California resident William Rick Singer was pinpointed as the "ringleader" of the scandal, allegedly helping wealthy parents get their children admitted to some of the nation's most elite schools - such as Yale, Georgetown, Stanford, University of Southern California, among others - through bribes, according to unsealed court documents.

At the USC campus in Los Angeles, an athletic coach was accused of taking a bribe in return for arranging the admission of Loughlin's daughters in spots reserved for the crew team. These typically involve large donations to the universities and big contributions for buildings. This route is only open to families with hundreds of thousands of dollars to spare.

"If I can make the comparison, there is a front door of getting in where a student just does it on their own, and then there's a back door where people go to institutional advancement and make large donations, but they're not guaranteed in", Singer said in The New York Times report.

Other parents charged include Manuel Henriquez, the chief executive of specialty finance lender Hercules Capital Inc; Gordon Caplan, the co-chairman of worldwide law firm Willkie Farr & Gallagher; Bill McGlashan Jr., who heads a buyout investment arm of private equity firm TPG Capital; and Douglas Hodge, the former CEO of the investment management firm Pimco. This method benefits the kid, because it's geared toward expanding his or her abilities. Instead, they chose to commit fraud, which benefits no one but themselves (and crooked staff members who took bribes). The 54-year-old actress, who has since deleted her social media, was not at her house when authorities showed up and there is a warrant out for her arrest. Officers later told journalists she was no longer in the building.

Juventus 0-0 Atletico Madrid
Ronaldo nearly scored when his long-range free kick forced Atletico goalkeeper Jan Oblak to make a hard save in the ninth minute. It was a simple match for Atletico Madrid as they received a goal through Saul in the 50th minute of the match.

The documents also say that Loughlin and her husband "agreed to pay bribes totalling $500,000 in exchange for having their two daughters designated as recruits to the USC crew team - despite the fact that they did not participate in crew - thereby facilitating their admission to USC". Her husband, actor William H Macy, paid bail and she was released from custody. "My sister goes to the same school, and we're pretty much inseparable, so it was nice following in her footsteps a little bit". Felicity and William's daughter reportedly received a score of 1420 on her SAT - 400 points more than she scored on her PSAT.

The admissions process also involves essays, which probably highlighted fake extracurriculars. She is next expected in appear in Boston court March 29 for a preliminary hearing. She also added that she was going to school for the partying, not academics: "I don't really care about school, as all you guys know".

"In many instances, the students taking the exams were unaware that their parents had arranged for this cheating", the Federal Bureau of Investigation said.

Part of the scheme involved advising parents to lie to test administrators and claim that their child had learning disabilities to allow them extra exam time.
