Felicity Huffman seen for first time since armed Federal Bureau of Investigation arrest

The Fuller House star was taken into custody on Wednesday, March 13, after Federal Bureau of Investigation agents reportedly showed up to her LA home the day prior.

She answered "yes" to several questions from the federal magistrate, including whether she understood the charges against her.

Huffman has now been charged with felony conspiracy to commit mail fraud and honest services mail fraud.

"Kim was originally reluctant to allow Loughlin to continue travelling to Vancouver for work, saying "I" m not comfortable giving her a passport for that kind of travel".

Loughlin's husband, clothing company founder Mossimo Giannulli, was also charged in the scheme.

In court documents obtained by HollywoodLife, prosecutors allege that Loughlin and her husband "agreed to pay bribes totaling $500,000 in exchange for having their two daughters designated as recruits to the USC crew team - despite the fact that they did not participate in crew - thereby facilitating their admission to USC".

She's alleged to be involved in the scandal alongisde 46 others, including Full House star Lori Loughlin.

Apparently, the Desperate Housewives alum knew that the arrest was looming and would have surrendered on her own if the events of this morning hadn't gone down.

Douglas Hodge - the former chief executive of investment firm Pimco, and another of the 33 parents charged in the $US25 million ($35 million) scam - appeared earlier in the day in a Boston court. The parents are alleged to have paid for fake entrance exams and phony athletic achievements in return for guaranteed university places.

"These parents are a catalogue of wealth and privilege", US Attorney Andrew Lelling said.

Prosecutors in the United States attorney's office in Boston said his company, Edge College & Career Network, has made $US25 million since embarking on the fraud in 2011, offering what he promised was a "guarantee" of admission.

The FBI says actress Lori Loughlin has been taken into custody in connection with a scheme in which wealthy parents paid bribes to get their children into top colleges.

The conspiracy allegedly included bribing entrance exam administrators to allow test takers to take exams in the place of students or to correct students' answers, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of MA.

According to prosecutors, the accused parents paid a firm run by Singer as much as $6 million to cheat on college entrance exams for their children or to bribe coaches to help non-athletic students get scholarships.

Loughlin and fellow actress Felicity Huffman headline the list of some 50 people charged in documents unveiled in Boston that describe a scheme to cheat the admissions process at eight sought-after schools.

Some include Yale, Georgetown, Stanford, USC, UCLA, Wake Forest, and others, according to the DOJ's news release.
