Real Madrid have clinched a deal to sign the Brazilian defender Eder Militao, 21, from Portuguese champions FC Porto from next season, the two clubs announced on Thursday.

The 21-year-old Brazilian has joined for an undisclosed transfer fee following a terrific breakthrough season in the Primeira Liga.

Militao has signed a six-year deal at the Bernabeu, with Madrid confirming he has committed his future to the club until 2025.

Meanwhile, Zinedine Zidane's return to the bench was not a good sign for the Colombia worldwide either, as he departed after a season in which he didn't enjoy playing time under the Frenchman.

The defender, who will join in the summer, is 21 years old and is a full worldwide with Brazil.

That will mean a significant profit for Porto on a player they signed past year from Sao Paulo in his homeland.

"A versatile footballer, Militao plays largely as a centre-back although he has also spent time at right-back".

The Brazil global has played 34 times for UEFA Champions League quarter-finalists this season, scoring three goals and registering two assists across all competitions.
