Midengine Chevrolet Corvette to be shown in July

Technical details were not announced, but the teaser website for the new auto says that "The Next Generation Corvette is the most anticipated Corvette ever".

After years of speculation General Motors finally confirmed the 2020 Chevrolet Corvette C8.

Chevrolet tweeted a teaser of the eighth-generation Corvette on Thursday, and the prototype was actually driven through NY with General Motors CEO Mary Barra riding shotgun. Chevrolet announced it would auction the final production front-engined Corvette, a black 2019 Z06, at the Barrett-Jackson Northeast sale in CT on June 28. According to vehicle and Driver, the first Corvette model to debut will be the "base" C8 Stingray, powered by a revised version of the current model's 6.2-litre V8.

While Chevrolet is keeping mum on any specifications for the next few months, we know plenty about the C8's powertrains and have even seen glimpses of its interior thanks to our intrepid spy photographers.

McConnell won't say if Senate would back Herman Cain for Fed
Larry Kudlow , White House economic council director, told ABC News that the president is sticking by his plans for now. At the time, Cain said the allegations were false but acknowledged that he'd "made mistakes" in his life.

The C8 will be entering production in the latter part of the year and the first model will be the base Stingray. Just what engine it is going to be remains unknown, but General Motors used to test a prototype version of a twin-turbo V8 engine a while ago.

The publication claims the powertrain will bump its power output to around 500hp (373kW), with the engine code to be renamed to "LT2" to signify its new location within the vehicle.

Multiple high-performance variants are set to follow in quick succession, including Z06, ZR1, and a range-topping hybrid that may use the Zora name. Chevrolet calls this next-generation model "the most anticipated Corvette ever".

The price tag is expected to go between $60,000 and $70,000.
