Rajasthan Royals beat Mumbai Indians by 4 wickets

Jos Buttler hit 89 off 43 balls as the Rajasthan Royals claimed a four-wicket win over the Mumbai Indians on Saturday but his blistering pursuit of a maiden Indian Premier League century nearly proved costly.

With the required run-rate over nine right from the offset, Buttler and Ajinkya Rahane put on 60 for the opening wicket.

Rohit's inclusion will not only put to rest any doubts about his fitness but also boost the Mumbai's batting line-up, which also comprises Ishan Kishan, Hardik Pandya, Krunal Pandya and ever-reliable Surya Kumar Yadav. Batting first, Mumbai Indians scored 187/5 in 20 overs.

Just like Mumbai Indians got a shot in the arm through their captain at the top of the order, Ajinkya Rahane played a similar role to that of his opposite number for Rajasthan Royals in their run chase.

Rohit Sharma was replaced by the young Siddhesh Lad who made his IPL debut in the last match. De Kock was particularly severe on off-spinner K Gautam that led to a fiery start from the home team, but the sapping conditions at the Wankhede meant de Kock had slowed down towards the backend of the innings, even though his contribution was worth its weight in gold for the MI total. In his absence, stand-in skipper Kieron Pollard ensured MI continue its good run as his whirlwind 83-run knock and helped Mumbai to script a three-wicket win against Kings XI Punjab. They are just above Royal Challengers Bangalore on the points table, having lost five matches.

Sunday's outage is yet another publicity problem for a company already dealing with privacy issues and regulatory probes . The outages , which started at about 12.30pm South African time, were still not resolved an hour later.

Kieron Pollard drove Mumbai Indians in Rohit's nonappearance and they won that match against KXIP by 3 wickets at the Wankhede on Wednesday.

England World Cup hopeful Jofra Archer had earlier taken three for 39 from four overs as the Indians posted 187 for 5. He scored 47 runs and his fine innings included six boundaries and one massive six. Bumrah accounted for the wickets of Sanju Samson and Steve Smith as Mumbai Indians almost pulled off a stunning victory. Chasing the ball in the penultimate over of a thrilling game, the 22-year-old tumbled badly outside the fence while preventing a boundary at long off, hurting his shoulder in the process.

This match was Mumbai Indians' 200 and Rohit Sharma's 100 as captain of the franchise.

Mumbai is a very balanced team. The Rajasthan outfit eventually managed to get over the line with three balls to spare after a Jos Buttler (89) onslaught.
